RIP
My old computer died for good this morning. Fortunately I was pretty much ready for it. I got a loan from my mom and got a new computer right away. I'm working to get it updated with everything right now. A moment of silence for my old rig. We had some good fun together. Tell/Tahn | | Monday, June 15th, 2009 | | 10:26 pm |
And once more, unto the breach
The 21'st is my birthday again. June is not turning out to be a good month, and the constant raining and financial issues don't help. - Tahn Current Mood: worried | | Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 | | 6:04 pm |
Sad now
I know I haven't posted in forever, I suck at this. My grandfather passed away today. It was by no means a surprise to anyone, as the people at the home called us yesterday and told us he was getting worse and that we should be prepared. Grandad had lung cancer, it turns out, but by his own wishes this had been withheld from us for many years. No surprise there either, as he'd been quite the smoker when he was younger. In addition to this, he had a hereditary heart problem which had made him weak since childhood, and a few years ago he suffered a stroke, lying in his apartment for a whole night. And despite all this, he lived to be 83 years old. To our relief, he was in a wonderful retirement home during his last years, but the stroke had made him "forget" a lot of things, which made him very sad. He also never quite got over grandma's death. I'm sad now, granddad was the single person who encouraged and inspired me most to be an artist. But at the same time, we didn't want him to suffer, and he was suffering at the end. Rest in peace, granddad. Current Mood: sad | | Monday, March 9th, 2009 | | 11:23 am |
Extremely geeky post ahead.
Yeah, yeah. I just had to make a WoW-related post. Can't be helped. Since I've been without a regular job for some time now (bouncing between temp places is not fun for any length of time), I've devoted some time to World of Warcraft. I had been out of that game for some time while I worked, but as usual the expansion release made me interested enough to sign up again (coinciding with work shortage). Now, I have a tiny guild on there which started as just me and my real life friends, devoted mostly to RP. During the whole of Classic WoW and Burning Crusade we mostly just played ultra-casual, at the most doing some heroic dungeons. As time went on we brought in some other friends into the guild as well (you know who you are). Well, with the release of Lich King, content has become easier to access and gearing up is smoother. I noticed that the guildies were now interested in doing more dungeon content, and were doing really well in the five-mans and heroics. So I figured, why not go all the way? I quietly started gathering friends and competent people I knew together for a raid group to do Naxxramas, the entry-level raid for the Lich King expansion. The team performed above all expectations. Yesterday we defeated Sapphiron and Kel'thuzad on our first tries ever. Enough MMO geeking for one post. T out. Current Mood: accomplished | | Thursday, January 1st, 2009 | | 1:02 pm |

Life is weird.
On the coming Sunday, one of my best friends is marrying a Magic: The Gathering illustrator. Yeah, I'm not sure what I think either. Current Mood: confused | | Sunday, December 7th, 2008 | | 12:32 pm |

World of Warcraft: The emoing
Today, for the first time in... well, ever... I felt really crappy about something I did in WoW. It was a quest, which you really didn't have any idea what you were doing until it was done, and it turned out to be rather sad and depressing. It actually took me an hour or so to feel the want to continue playing. Well-written stuff, very very mean. Current Mood: depressed | | Thursday, November 13th, 2008 | | 6:10 pm |
World of something-or-other, wrath of that kind of cold dude.
I ended up picking up Wrath of the Lich King today. The Collector's Edition, even. I didn't pre-order it, I just strolled into the same place I got Burning Crusade and picked one up. They were really cheap too, compared to any of the competition. I am a weak, weak person. Current Mood: guilty | | Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 | | 11:17 am |
All hail the Lord of Change
I feel... elated to see that Barack Obama won the presidential election. I now hope and pray that he can follow through on his promises, and that his term will do a lot to rebuild the United States. Good luck guys. Current Mood: relieved | | Friday, October 24th, 2008 | | 9:58 am |

Commissions
WARNING: Shameless self-promoting below It's been a good while since I did any serious drawing, but I'd like to get started again. Being back on a strictly temporary basis of employment for now I can use any scrap of money as well. My Devart for those who don't know or forgot: http://dragonshade.deviantart.com/Just let me know if you're interested. Hello Since some of you (you know who you are) have been asking me about my vacations this summer, I decided to throw together a little showcase post with a selection of photos from my travels. Since I got my digital camera I've become a shutterbug. I snap pictures at everything that's even remotely interesting with little abandon. Rest assured though, I have only selected a few of the giant chunk of pictures I took for this post. There's a few here I suspect evilcarp and madhack and lynmars will like, and the rest of you too I hope... I should probably say that I'm far from a professional photographer, and my camera is limited as well. So bear with me. ( Sweden... the final frontier. Extremely image-intensive. )Tahn/Tell EDIT: Right, figured out what was wrong. All photos should be showing up now. Current Mood: tired | | Sunday, July 20th, 2008 | | 9:55 pm |
Mostly for evilcarp
Just one of those odd things that makes me think. Corynn, I was reading this old comic book (as I am wont to do) and I found an ad for Golden Age comics, lower level, Pike Place Market Seattle. The comic was written in 1979, which means that GA comics has existed in roughly the same spot for at least 29 years. That's pretty darn impressive. | | Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 | | 11:40 pm |

Still alive (Still ali~ive)
My birthday has come and gone, and I'm no longer a 20-something. I didn't freak out this year, which is a good sign. Birthday celebrations were quiet, consisting of family dinner one day and family luncheon the next, with a sprinkle of gift-giving in between. I hope you all have had a pleasant weekend as well. So I went to see some movie about ferrous men...
Iron Man was great. So far, it's ranking near the top of Marvel's superhero flicks, and certainly much better than recent faire like X-Men 3 or Fantastic Four 2. I wasn't quite ready for this much witty banter, but it worked, and the actors did a good job. Also, so many little nerd trivia things in there. Today was a fun day
Spring has finally arrived in force in Sweden, which lifts my spirits a lot. So much sun and warmth. But that's not the only reason I had fun today, as evidenced below. And yes, I realize I am a giant nerd, but today was great fun for me. In summary, fun day all around! Current Mood: cheerful |
